COBLESKILL — James P. Markley, 60, formerly of Cobleskill, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Albany Medical Center, following a long illness.

Survivors include his siblings, Phyllis Joslyn of Howes Cave, Linda (David) Butler and Laura Butler (Edwin Brown), all of Richmondville, Paul Markley (Janet Bialkowski), Larry (Anne) Markley and Jeffrey Markley, all of Cobleskill, Henry (Pat) Markley of Richmondville; and two aunts, Judy Holmes of Cobleskill and Arlene Johnson of Freemont, Mich.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service, from 5 to 6 p.m. A committal service will be held with military honors at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
