Judith Lynn ‘Judy’ Edwards

ONEONTA — Judith Lynn “Judy” Edwards, 60, of Oneonta, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at home with friends by her side following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 

She was born May 5, 1953, in Sidney, the daughter of Richard and Natalie (Morosky) Edwards. She graduated from Sidney Central School with the Class of 1971 and Delhi Tech in 1973.

Judy worked for F.N. Burt in Oneonta for 38 years until her health forced her to retire in 2012.

Judy enjoyed gardening (mostly playing in the dirt) and just enjoyed life.  She loved taking her beloved dog, Phoebe, for her walks.  But most of all, Judy loved spending time with her family and her many friends.

Judy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Clark and Christy Edwards of California and Arizona; her close friend (sister), Sande Davis Doi (Doug) of Oneonta; “adopted sons” Douglas (Kelly) Brent, Ilinois, David (Sarah) Brent, Florida, Jason Doi, Oneonta  and Tim Doi, Oneonta; close friends, Karen (David) Elderkin of Arizona; uncle, Walter Morosky Sr., Texas; cousins, Walter (Ginger) Morosky Jr., Texas, Linda Morosky, Texas, Gary Morosky, Texas and Wendy Edwards, California; her beloved dog, Phoebe and cat, Louise. 

She was predeceased by her father, Richard Edwards and mother and stepfather, Natalie and Ralph “Jiggs” Charlton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta.  A Service to Celebrate the Life of Judy Edwards will immediately follow at 11 a.m. 

Memorial donations in Judy’s name may be made to either the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326 or to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
