On March 7, 2014, after battling Alzheimer’s, Frank Edward Schott Jr., went Home to be with our Lord.

He was 85 years old and enjoyed a wonderful, active life, retiring to Florida in his 50s. He was an avid sportsman, playing softball, tennis and fishing.

He enjoyed going on many cruises with his wife of 65 years, Marilyn, who survives him. Contract Bridge was a passion and Frank was honored as a LifeMaster, while only in his 30s.

He is survived by his three children, his only daughter, Karen Head (Thomas) of Schenevus; and two sons, Wendell Schott of Florida, and Tim Schott (Patricia) of Leesburg, Va.; his grandchildren, Keith Bellomo, Rochester, Kevin Ellis of East Worcester (Vickie), Elisabeth Schott and Timothy Schott of Leesburg, Va. He is also survived by his three great-grandsons, Lcpl. Tyler Burman, USMC-Camp LeJeunne, North Carolina, Joshua Ellis, 8, and Timothy Ellis, 1 ½; also a great-granddaughter, Brittany Burman, 16, of Esperance.

There will be no service of remembrance or celebration of life, as this was his wish.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, in his honor, is welcome to do so.

A special obituary will appear in the Tampa Bay Times on March 15, 2014.
