CHERRY VALLEY — Thomas J. Moylan, 61, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Bassett Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.
He was born March 2, 1953, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the son of John and Therese (Schneider) Moylan.
Survivors include his daughter, Shan Hale of California; and four grandchildren, Ian, Dallas, Genevieve and Joselyn. He will be well remembered and loved by his mother, Therese A. Moylan; brother, John R. Moylan; and John’s significant other, Carol Ronovech. Tom is also survived by two very special friends, Dave and Jeff YO!; a nephew, Matthew Otis; and a large extended family too numerous to mention. They will all miss him tremendously.
He was predeceased by his father, John; and a beloved sister, Karen.
Tom was an avid baseball fan and talented player. He was affectionately known as Tom Cat. He loved to cook and especially enjoyed summer bar-b-ques with his neighbor, Dave.
Tom was proud of his Irish heritage and sported a full mane of curly red locks. Locals knew him as “Red.”
Tom was an animal lover and always made time for his two best friends, Bailey and Coco.
He was a kind, compassionate, and generous man. For that reason the family request that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Susquehanna Valley SPCA in Tom’s memory.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. preceding the service.
