JEFFERSON — Theresa “Terry” A. King, 69, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1944, in Manhattan, the daughter of Michael and Grace (Ganci) Cassano.

She married Christopher King on June 29, 1974.

A longtime Jefferson resident, Terry was very active in the community. She volunteered for the Jefferson Fire Department Auxiliary and served on the Jefferson School Board for over 10 years.

She loved being a mother and grandmother and attended all school events and functions for her family. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her for being a phenomenal cook.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Chris King of Jefferson; her children, Michael and Jennifer Goronsky of Albany, Frank Goronsky and Kelly Micha of Stamford, and Danielle King and Jason Lozano of Albany; grandchildren, Alexis, Michael, and Ryan Goronsky; a brother, Louis and Gloria Cassano of Smithtown, Long Island; many nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends in the Jefferson and surrounding communities; and her beloved canine companion, Roxy.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Anthony Louis Cassano.

Friends are invited to greet the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Sacred Heart Church, Stamford, with the Rev. Michael Cambi officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Jefferson Evergreen Cemetery, Jefferson.
