OTEGO — Constance Jean Ellis, 60, of Otego, passed away peacefully Sept. 4, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in January of 1953, to Elizabeth and the late Fred F. Berlin in Albany. She attended Cardinal Mcloskey High School.
She retired from Verizon in 1998. Connie was an avid baker and cook. She enjoyed painting and gardening. Above all she loved her two dogs, Lurch and Willow, and her other pets Tee, Echo and Vger, they meant everything to her. She loved attending dog shows and teaching obedience classes. She was an active member in the Del-Otseo-Nango Kennel Club.
She was a very talented artist and painter. Connie had a green thumb and loved her flower garden and plants.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Ray Ellis; her mother, Elizabeth Berlin; three stepchildren, Jody Ellis, Tony Ellis and Cassie (Ellis) Zolar; four grandchildren; sister Gail Randio and her husband, Frank; brother Frederick M. Berlin and his wife, Barbara; three nieces and one nephew.
Friends are invited to the memorial service that will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris. Friends and family are invited to the Morris VFW Post on Ellis Road after the services to celebrate Connie’s life.
