ROSEBOOM — Elizabeth M. Semrov was delivered home to her Lord and Savior Nov. 1, 2013.
Born Nov. 17, 1913, on Morton Road in the Town of Roseboom, she was the daughter of Arnold and Jennie (Graham) Morton, and the beloved wife of the late Anton Semrov Jr. who she married in 1937, and who died in 1975.
She was employed by the Clark Estates for many years retiring from the New York State Historical Association in 1970.
As an avid lover of life, travel and friends, Betty enjoyed many trips with Tony throughout the United States and every province of Canada, her winters in Florida after Tony’s passing, square dancing, playing solitaire, and numerous family journeys to her mother’s birthplace in Northern Ireland.
Betty was a life member of the Otsego Order of the Eastern Star as well as an active member and participant in the Cooperstown Senior Bridge, Widow/Widowers Cub of South Valley and the Roseboom Senior Citizens Clubs. She was particularly proud of having attended every Cherry Valley High School alumni banquet, including this year’s, since she graduated in 1932.
Surviving Betty are daughter, Mary E. Hogan of Watervliet; two grandchildren, John A. (Fran) Hogan and Kimberly (Wayne) Ann McDade; and three great-grandchildren; Sierra L. Hogan, Sommer L. Hogan and Austin Hogan McDade, all of Lancaster, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Ron Fralick officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roseboom Cemetery.
Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Roseboom Cemetery Assoc., or the United Methodist Church of Roseboom.
