Patricia E. Lee
BOVINA CENTER — Patricia E. Lee, 87, of Bovina Center, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at O’Connor Hospital, Delhi, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1926, in Queens, the daughter of Joseph and Eugenie (Meyer) Hernandez.
She married Hugh E. Lee on June 14, 1952, in Queens.
Moving to the area in the mid 1970s, out of their love of the countryside, Hugh and Patricia thought it would be better to raise their children here. After retirement they enjoyed traveling cross-country and overseas.
Patricia was an avid reader, donating many books to the Bovina Library. She also enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching.
She was a longtime member of the Bovina United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Hugh Lee of Bovina Center; son, Jonathan and Mary Lynne Lee of Sauquoit; daughter, Susan and Randy Brown of Delhi; daughter, Jennifer Aikens of Bovina; grandchildren, Emma Brown of Rochester, Katie and Matthew Aikens of Bovina, and Justin Lee of Sauquoit; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Stephen Hernandez.
Friends are invited to greet the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Bovina United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Garrett Schindler officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date in the Bovina Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
