Ferdinand ‘Frank’ Thomas
DAVENPORT — Ferdinand “Frank” Thomas, 69, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
He was born on May 29, 1944, in New Hyde Park.
Frank was married to Elizabeth Miller.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1968 during the Vietnam War.
Frank was a New York City police officer for many years. After retiring from the NYPD, he worked at Charlotte Valley Central School.
Frank was an active member of the Davenport Fire Department and part of a pit crew for a race car team.
He is survived by his wife, Liz; his stepson, Ronald Stannard and his wife, Tina and their children, Samantha Kniskern and Zachary Kniskern.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at the Davenport Fire Department with the Rev. Alan Miller officiating.
