---- — Grant N. Housworth
GOODYEAR LAKE — Grant N. Housworth, 56, of Goodyear Lake, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Grant was an artist, comedian, musician, actor and friend. His kindness and laughter touched all who knew him. Though he had personal struggles for many years, he’d finally found peace and a purpose, returning to school (SUNY Oneonta) to obtain a degree in psychology and graduating in May at the top of his class.
Grant was born in Oregon where he graduated from Nestucca High School. He attended college at Mt. Hood Community College until he obtained a scholarship to the New York School of the Arts in NYC. There he remained for 16 years and had a career in modeling and acting (his passion) with parts in several soap operas and television commercials, until moving to upstate NY in 1993 for a lifestyle change.
Grant was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Johnson, who he adored. Surviving are his siblings, Cody Housworth, Starla Spaulding, Lark Housworth and Nathan Caltrane, all of whom were very dear to his heart.
Whether he was pitching at a pick-up softball game with friends, playing a marathon of Yahtzee, cards, or regaling people with tales of his early life as an actor in New York City, there was never a dull moment when Grant Housworth was around. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
A memorial service for Grant will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at Turning Point, 22 Elm St., Oneonta.
