RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Michael J. Hugick, age 88, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, in Folts Homes, Herkimer.

A lifelong area resident, he was a dairy farmer, retiring in 1993. Upon retiring he worked as a rural area deliveryman driver for the Herkimer Telegram.

In 1967 he was united in marriage to the former Rosemarie Breuer in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, West Winfield.

Surviving are his devoted wife of forty-five years Rosemarie; and his son, David Hugick of Richfield Springs. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and John Hugick; five sisters, Mary Kiersztyn, Clara Lesniak, Helen Peplinski, Amelia Kozak and Lottie Kozak.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, West Winfield.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. in the J. Seton McGrath funeral home at 40 W. James St. in Richfield Springs. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Rescue Squad.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Folts Homes for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Hugick and his family during his stay.
