CHATHAM — David R. Wells Sr., 57, of Chatham, passed away, with his family by his side, on Nov. 7, 2012, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
He was born in Troy, on Sept. 12, 1955, to Robert Wells of Chatham and Elsie Colburn, of Garrattsville.
His survivors include his parents; two children, David Wells Jr. (Amy) of Richfield Springs and Amber Lange (Jaret) of West Sand Lake and two beloved granddaughters, Mia and Sierra; brothers Dennis Wells of Laurens, Robert Wells of Garrattsville, Louie Colburn of Garrattsville, Ed Colburn of Bainbridge; sisters Donna Ferguson of Morris and Pamela Wells of Rensselaer, and other nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel.
David was a loving father and a very proud “Papa.” He was a skilled carpenter and hard worker throughout his life. He was most recently employed by Sonoco Plastics in Chatham. David was known for his lavish vegetable garden and in his spare time enjoyed searching for antiques/collectables. He was also a very loyal NY Giants fan. He will be extremely missed by his family and friends.
Calling hours and a celebration of his life will be held Nov. 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a private memorial service for family from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Templeton Hall, 63 Pioneer St., Cooperstown.
