Charles Shader

A “gadget guru,” Chuck also had numerous switches, gismos, and gadgets to turn on the lights, TV, etc. You name it; he had an interesting way to do it.

Golf was one of his favorite pastimes. He could be found at any given time on the golf course unless there was an impending tornado or 2 feet of snow on the first tee.

If you needed anything fixed or knives sharpened, Chuck was your guy. Pizzaland’s knives were never sharper and the First United Methodist Church was always in tip top shape if he had anything to do with it.

It made him so pleased to be helping someone, no matter the task.

Pop, Dad, Chuck, and Pop Pop, as he was known by his family, will be greatly missed but we know he is playing golf and fixing everything that needs fixing.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, 66 Chestnut St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Teressa Sivers, officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta.

In lieu of flowers, Chuck would be so pleased to have donations made in his memory to the Leatherstocking Honor Flight, SCCSC, P.O. Box 621, Cobleskill, NY 12043. This organization flies World War II veterans to the WWII Memorial and honors these wonderful people for their services.
