John A. Ludemann
DELHI — John A. Ludemann, 83, of Delhi, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Brooklyn, the son of William J. and Ethel (Full) Ludemann, Sr., and was an Army veteran, serving in Korea as an MP.
A carpenter by trade, he was a union construction worker on Long Island, serving as secretary for his local union, later working for Fairchild Aviation, until retirement.
Formerly of Massapequa-Amityville, where he was an active BSA leader in Troop 84, he moved to Treadwell (1988), then to Delhi (2005).
John enjoyed hunting and model railroading.
Pre-deceased by his wife of 44 years, Lorraine (Kierock) Ludemann (1997); and two brothers, William, Jr. and Alfred, surviving are three children, Suzanne (Joseph) Regina, West Babylon, John K. (Lisa) Ludemann, Enfield, Conn., and James J. (Denise) Ludemann, Deer Park; three grandchildren, Katherine, Thomas and James, Jr.; his companion, Hilda Hoffman, Delhi; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, until service time, 3 p.m., at Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi. Rev. John E. Priest, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial with military honors, later, in Croton Union Cemetery, Treadwell.
