BLOOMVILLE — Robert D. Worden, 90, formerly of Bloomville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Robinson Terrace, Stamford.
He was born July 29, 1922, the youngest of six children, the son of David A. and Elizabeth (Hastings) Worden in Bloomville.
He married Gertrude Cunningham on July 29, 1979, she predeceased him,
Feb. 7, 2002.
Robert played baseball in the first game played at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown.
A graduate of Bloomville High School, he was an active area farmer. He was past president of South Kortright Bulkmilk Production Co-Op; member of the Holstein Friesian Association; member of Farm Bureau and attended the Bloomville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Ruth Everett, Minnesota; and stepson, Daniel Cunningham, Colorado; stepgrandchildren, Debra Schreoder, Amy Merrick and Christopher Everett; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, date and time will be published in a later edition of The Daily Star.
