TREADWELL — Michael Shapiro died on Jan. 26, 2013, at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City after a 13 year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Dworkin-Shapiro; and a stepson, David Dworkin.
Mike was born Oct. 6, 1943.
He served in the Army in Germany as a cook. Upon returning he joined Amtrak as a trackman.
A memorial will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Redden’s Funeral Home on 325 West 14th St., NYC.
Mike will be buried in Treadwell Cemetery in upstate New York in the early spring.
