AFTON _ Michael K. Sickler, 61, of Afton, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was predeceased by his father, Samuel H. “Sam” Sickler.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debra Sickler; his four children, Erin and Corey Smith, Bainbridge, Michael P. Sickler and his fiancée, Ashley Chavez, Endicott, Scott A. Sickler, Afton, Samantha and Matthew McArthur, New Port News, Va.; a grandchild, Cameron; mother, Dawn Sickler, Afton; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra and James Lockwood, Port Crane, Cheryl Sickler, Afton; brother, Mark Sickler, Afton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Genevie “Bea” and Donald Mott, Masonville; sister-in-law, Kathy Weirs, Jackson, Tenn.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Margery Mott, Masonville; and also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

He was a member of Nineveh Presbyterian Church, owner /operator of Afton Electric and a former member of the Afton Fire Department and Afton Police.

Funeral services will be held at the Nineveh Presbyterian Church 2997, Route 7, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Emrys Tyler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, 69-71 Maple St., Harpursville from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Afton Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 343, Afton, NY 13730.
