KINGSTON — Gertrude Reer, 91, of Kingston, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Golden Hill Health Care Center.
Born in Lake Ariel, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George and Lorraine McKee Lawrence.
Gertrude was a retired welfare officer with the town of Ulster. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and antiquing.
Gertrude is survived by two children, Lawrence Reer and his wife, Phyllis of Palenville and Lorraine Reer Doltz and her husband, Frederick of Oneonta; a brother, William Lawrence and his wife, Marge of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Mark, Karl and Cynthia Reer, Amy and Fred Doltz, Jarret and Daryn Glassbrook; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Edward Reer, who passed on the same day, Feb. 18, in 1994; and her son, Bruce Reer, who passed in 1998.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, with a funeral service to follow at noon at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston.
Interment will be private.
