Alberta ‘Tootsie’ Ryan

HAMDEN — Alberta “Tootsie” Ryan of Hamden, a retired telephone representative with NJ Bell, where she was a shop steward for CWA and a pharmacist assistant at O’Connor Hospital, Delhi, entered into rest on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in Schervier Pavilion, Warwick. She was 77.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1935, in Hope Lawn, N.J. Her parents died when she was very young and was raised by her maternal aunt and uncle, Theresa and Rudolph Kratz.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Forman; son, Michael Ryan; daughter, Erin Ryan; four grandchildren, Helene, Patrick and Brian Forman and Vincent Pacienza; two sons-in-law, George Forman and William Pacienza; brother, Donald Kratz; sister, Terry Kratz; cousins, Loretta Newman and Sister Pat Mayer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Ryan; three brothers, Edward, Vincent and Kenneth; sister, Louise Griffin.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to June Pheonix and all of mom’s friends and neighbors for their kindness and care.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
