GREENFIELD CENTER — David R. McDonald, 57, of Howe Road, died peacefully Monday morning, Dec. 2, 2013, at home.
Born May 30, 1956, in Oneonta, he was the son of the late Bernard and Emily McDonald. He was a 1974 graduate of Oneonta High School. He moved to the area in 2006. He married Sandra M. Sutliff on Sept. 6, 2008, in Wilton.
He enjoyed working on his farm and most recently at Simply Grazing in Fort Ann. Dave enjoyed going to livestock auctions and woodworking. He was a very generous man. He often put others’ needs above his own and always was willing to lend a hand to anyone who he thought may need it.
Survivors include his wife of five years, Sandra Sutliff; his mother and father in-law, Walter Sutliff Sr. and Audrey Sutliff of Hadley; one brother in-law, Walter Sutliff Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Hudson Falls; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Schmidt and her husband, Vincent, of Greenfield Center, and Amy Albright and her husband, Alan, of Delanson; his brother, Edward McDonald of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister, Deborah McDonald of Jefferson; one niece and seven nephews.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Brewer Funeral Home Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzurne.
A memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Carpenter, pastor of the Linwood Baptist Church, officiating.
