ONEONTA — Dorothy Louise Goodspeed, 66, of Oneonta, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 22, 1947, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Beal) Sizemore.
Dorothy married Harry Goodspeed on April 20, 1984, in Connecticut.
For 32 years, Dorothy worked at Bic Pen in Milford, Conn., as a machine operator until her retirement. Following her retirement, Dorothy and Harry moved to Oneonta to be close to family.
Dorothy enjoy collecting tea pots, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, tending to her flowers in her flower gardens and feeding and watching the birds.
But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Harry Goodspeed; three children, Richard Goodspeed and Tammy Greene of Oneonta, Brian and Tami Goodspeed of West Oneonta and Deborah Hall of Oneonta; five grandchildren, Brett Howard, Devin Smith, Elissa Wilsey and Kadin and Jaylee Goodspeed; two sisters, Irene Beale and Lorraine Hidecavage.
She was predeceased by her brothers.
At Dorothy’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
