MARYLAND — Curtis Andrew Culver, 66, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Stratton Veterans Medical Center in Albany.
He was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Oneonta, the son of Curtis A. Culver and Vera (Bryden) Eaton.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He obtained the rank of sergeant and received the Army Commendation Medal.
Curtis was a private and gentle person, who gave a lot of himself to others. He was a master craftsman. He could figure out a project and it would be right.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (VanHoesen) Culver; sons, Chad Culver of New York and Scott and wife, Melissa Culver of Tennessee; two grandsons, Dylan and Tyler; a sister-in-law, Donna VanHoesen and other in-laws; his siblings, Edna Atwell, Jean Brannigan, David Culver, Mikki Fengler, and Jerry Culver; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Pat Clay and Vernon of Virginia, Heidi, Michael and Holly Fry of Ohio, John Moxley of New York, Jean and Joe Hewitt of North Carolina, Barbara and Wayne Chamberlain of North Carolina and Carol Muehl of New York.
He was predeceased by his mother, Vera Eaton; father, Curtis Culver; sisters, Phyllis Chichvar and Barbara Smith.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
