GLENVILLE — Carol E. Broadwell, a former longtime resident of Oneonta, entered peacefully into eternal rest Dec. 6, 2012, at home, with family.
Born in Brooklyn, July 31, 1913, to Hans and Anna Nelson, Carol was 8 years old when her parents bought a farm in West Laurens.
She resided in Oneonta for most of her adult life, except for some years spent in Laurens, Cobleskill, Cooperstown Junction and Glenville, where she lived for the last 10 years.
Carol was a graduate of Laurens Central School and worked as a laundress at Homer Folks Hospital until its closing.
She is predeceased by her parents, brother, Charles Nelson, husband, Carl Broadwell and great-granddaughter, Yvonne Williams.
Carol is survived by Charles Broadwell, Sharon Springs, Anna DiMarco, Glenville, Natalie Cameron (Jon), Downers Grove, Ill., Edward Broadwell (Jennie), Boyds, Md.; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Carol was a participant of the Anatomical Gift Program of Albany Medical College.
A memorial service will be arranged by family and announced at a later date.
