MARYLAND — Harold B. Card, Sr., 75, of Maryland passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Otsego Manor, Cooperstown.
He was born June 10, 1937 in New Lisbon the son of the late Steward and Alice (Eldred) Card.
For many years, Harold was a dairy farmer in the Garrattsville area. He was also very active with the Garrattsville Fire Department and Emergency Squad.
Harold married Betty Hughes in 1992 at the Cooperstown Junction United Methodist Church.
Harold enjoyed going for rides on his motorcycle with Betty. They were members of the Retreads Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed camping and traveling in his motor home. Harold was a talented woodworker. But most of all, Harold loved the time that he spent with Betty.
Harold is survived by his wife, Betty Card of Maryland; six children, Harold, Jr., Stewart, Debbie, Janet, Cheryl and Doug; two step children, Tina and Hobart and their three children and Rodney; two sisters, Marjorie and Marie; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Harold B. Card, Sr. will immediately follow at 6:00 PM with the Reverend Eric Santamont Pastor of the Southside Wesleyan Church officiating. Memorial donations in Harold’s name may be made to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, New York 13820.
