SOUTH NEW BERLIN — Katie M. Jennings, 32, of South New Berlin, passed away December 22, 2012, after a 3 year long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 30, 1980 in Norwich, to Barry Barker and Tina Wilson.

Her childhood was spent growing up in New Berlin. She was a high school graduate of Unadilla Valley Central School in 1999. She had also been taking classes through Kaplan University and holding a 4.0 GPA prior to becoming ill.

She spent most of her career as the Edmeston Town Clerk and later worked at Schroders Measurment Technology in Clearwater Florida, as a test developer and program manager.

Katie married the love of her life Lance Jennings on July 26, 2004. Katie and Lance had two amazing sons Nathan and Tyler, who she loved very much. Her favorite thing to do was watch her boys playing sports . Katie loved spending time with friends and family. She had devoted her last three years to her battle against cancer, and spending time with her family.

Katie is survived by her husband Lance and there two boys Nathan and Tyler of South New Berlin. Her Father Barry Barker of Florida; Tina (mother) and Kevin Wilson of Morris. Her Poppy, Ken Brown of South New Berlin. Her brother and sister-in-law Jason and Rebecca Barker of Chadwicks, Brandon Barker of South New Berlin; Karolyn Barker of Oneonta, Kari Quitter of Mt Upton, and Mindy Brown of South Carolina. Brother and sister-in-law Danette and Keith George of New Berlin, Father in law Dale Jennings of Edmeston; Carol Harris of New Berlin, NY. Katie is also survived by several relatives included many nieces and nephews that she cherished very much. Katie was predeceased by her grandmother Lilian Brown (Gran) as well as grandparents Stewart and Jackie Barker.

Calling hours will be January 4, 2013, from 7-9 at the Dakin Funeral home in New Berlin. A memorial service will be held on Saturday Jan. 5th 2013, at 2:00 at the First Methodist Church in New Berlin, with reverend Lyle Linder and Dick Anderson officiating.
