LEXINGTON, N.C. — Linda "Pooh" left us July 7, 2013, at the Lexington Health Care Facility in Lexington, following a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 10, 1948, in Oneonta, to Howard ‘Jake’ Crandell and Margaret (Stranagen) Crandell.
She lived in Otego and Oneonta. A 1967 graduate of Unatego school, she worked at F.N. Burt before moving to Lexington, N.C., in 2005, to be near friends, Glenn and Dulce Jester.
She loved playing pool and fishing. An avid needlepoint enthusiast, she was a member of Lexington Senior Services.
She is survived by her sister, Roslin (Art) Cotton of Florida; brother, Howard ‘Jake’ Crandell of Texas; aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces; and many close friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Helen (Richard) Stamets of Otego; and her longtime companion, Chester (Tiny) Wild.
Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7, in the Maryland Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at Brooks’.
