ROXBURY — Dorothy A. Slauson, 94, of Roxbury, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Chittenango.
Dorothy was born April 21, 1918, at Stamford, the daughter of Frederick and Ethel (O’Brien) Ploutz.
She married Floyd Slauson Sr., on Jan. 21, 1937, at Roxbury. He died Aug. 3, 1992.
Dorothy was employed by Audio-Sears and Kirkside Adult Home. She devoted most of her time taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and doing plastic canvas needlework.
She is survived by her children, Floyd A. Slauson Jr., and his wife, Linda, Ruth Ann Axtell and her husband, Stan, Joan Tweedie and her husband, Gary, and Linda Myers; sister, Hilda Knapp; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, followed by funeral services with the Rev. Richard Dykstra officiating and committal services in Roxbury Cemetery.
