COOPERSTOWN — Patricia B. DeBaun, 85, passed away Nov. 23, 2012.

She was a former resident of Richfield Springs, Canon City, Colo., Gulf Breeze, Fla., and recently the Clara Welch Thanksgiving Home, Cooperstown.

Born Nov. 25, 1926, in Englewood, N.J., Patsy was the daughter of Everett and Sadie Bowditch Burger. They lived in Congers, along with her sisters, Peggy and Nancy, and her brother, Everett.

She graduated from Congers High School in 1946, where she was vice president of her senior class, a cheerleader and a member of the Glee Club. She then attended the Laboratory School of Merchandising in New York City and was employed at Lord and Taylors, Macy’s and later on, the Church Mouse Boutique in Cooperstown.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; and son, Christian.

She and Pete were married Sept. 3, 1949, and moved to Richfield Springs, where they worked and raised a family on the Lochiel Farm, on Allen Lake Road.

Patsy was a very vivacious person, and there was never a dull moment when she was around. She loved to garden, sew, cook, golf, play bridge, crochet and entertain.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Tom) Stevens of Cooperstown and Punta Gorda, Fla., her daughter, Eleanor F. DeBaun of Cooperstown; and her son, John (Pati) DeBaun of Park City, Utah. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Nicole (Brandt) Hager, Christopher, Amanda and Scott Stevens, Melinda and Jordan Crist, and Sadie and Fine DeBaun. Also, three great-grandchildren, Lyla Mae Dawson, Avery and Knox Hager.

Donations in memory of Patsy may be made to the Cooperstown Food Pantry, 25 Church St., Cooperstown, NY 13326 or the American Cancer Society, 8 Oak Ave., Sidney, NY 13838.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Arrangements are under the guidance of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
