UNADILLA — Warren W. Richards, 94, has gone home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday evening Dec. 10, 2012, at A.O Fox Memorial Nursing Home.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1918, in Oneonta, the son of Carlton and Lula (Wilson) Richards. Warren married the former Verna Girard on Nov. 7, 1941, in Oneonta. She died on July 11, 2004.

Warren moved to Unadilla in 1955 coming from Sidney. He was a machinist for Amphenol (Bendix) in Sidney for 42 years. A 1939 graduate of Albany Business College he was instrumental in founding the Sidney Credit Union in the mid 1940s. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists Local 1529 and held every position but president for over 40 years as well as a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Unadilla.

He is survived by his daughters; Daughn and Dennis Darlin of Wells Bridge, Susan Kuss of Saratoga Springs, Margaret (Peggy) and William Lisenby of San Antonio, Texas, Gloria Richards of Ithaca, Robin and David Lewis of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Mary Lynn and Scott Henchey of Unadilla; brother and sister-in law Ernest and Marie Girard of Brant Lake; and a sister-in-law Angie Richards of Oneonta. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, an two great-great grandchildren neices and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Harold and sister Mildred; brother-in-laws Raymond and Samuel Girard; and a son-in-law Joseph Kuss.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 240 Main St., Unadilla, NY 13849, or to Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820, in Warren’s memory.

Funeral arrangements are by the Westcott Funeral Home Inc. of Unadilla.
