Marianne Carlozzi

Marianne Carlozzi

CHESTERTOWN — Marianne Carlozzi, a resident for many years in the Chestertown area who recently relocated to Queensbury, N.Y., died suddenly at the age of 75, on Nov. 8, 2012, in her home.

She was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on June 19, 1937. Her parents were Joseph and Francis Neu of Manhattan, N.Y.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Carlozzi, and she is survived by her four children, William Carlozzi (Barb), Debra Behre (Todd), Karen Zuzek (Rich) and Dona Carlozzi.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayla, Nichole and Billy Carlozzi as well as Shane, Craig and Briana Zuzek.

Marianne, who grew up an only child, was close with her younger cousin Tom Sullivan. She left behind a large extended family and many friends who loved her dearly.

Marianne graduated in 1955 from Worcester Central School, and then proceeded to attend the University of the State of New York where she received her registered professional nurse’s license. After nursing school she married Bill in 1958 and then moved up to Friends Lake shortly after to raise her family and take over Rogers Cottages.

After 30 years and countless memories at Rogers Cottages, Bill and Marianne built their dream home on Schroon Lake. There they spent their days watching their grandchildren grow and enjoyed entertaining large gatherings of family and friends.

Marianne’s perfect day was spent gardening, perfecting her landscape and followed by a swim in the lake at dusk.

For all who knew her, knew that she loved nothing more than to dance and have a good time. Marianne was a master in the kitchen and had the skills of a perfected seamstress. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports and loved traveling to Florida for the month of April to fish off the coast of Port St. Joe. Marianne’s house was nothing but perfection, her home was always warm and welcoming to anyone.
