SIDNEY-UNADILLA — Patricia A. Barnes, a very special wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left us peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.
Pat was born on June 24, 1939, daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Earl) Caswell in Oneonta.
She graduated from Sidney High School in 1957.
In 1958, Pat married her childhood sweetheart, Dick.
In 2001, she retired from the Amphenol Corporation after several years of service.
Pat is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her children, Cindi (Russell), Rick (Jen) and Connie; her grandchildren, Matthew (Carly), Meghan (Jeremy), Michael, Chris, Erica, Owen, Marrannda, Stephanie, Kyle, Derek and Trevor; a great-grandson, Carter; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruby.
Pat enjoyed cooking, reading, bowling and taking trips to Myrtle Beach, Bristol, Tenn., and Port Orange, Fla.
Her biggest joy was her husband and her family.
She was a member of the MacDonald Hose Company No. 1 Auxiliary of the Sidney Fire Department.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be sorely missed.
Friends are invited to call from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Benjamin Shaw, officiating.
