NEW KINGSTON — Elfriede Frank, 94, of New Kingston, died March 4, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Elfriede was born in Frankfurt, Germany on Jan. 2, 1919, daughter of John and Herta Schmitt, and sister of Werner. She was married to loving husband, Albert Frank for 57 years, whom she now joins.
Surviving her are the families of her three daughters, Barbara Babitz of Dumont, N.J., Margaret Rita Goldberg of Brooklyn and Lenore Lindemann of Rosendale. She is survived by six grandchildren, Susan, Brian, Martin, Michelle, Rebecca and Alexandra; as well as four great-grandchildren, Esther, Shoshana, Yitzchak and Gabriella.
She was a mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, nurse, seamstress, baker, master chef, botanist, pediatrician, farmer, dancer, veterinarian, storyteller, fixer of all things that needed fixing and Survivor.
She will be missed terribly and although her own feet were very small, she leaves behind shoes so large, they are impossible to fill.
Funeral will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, March 7, at Hynes Funeral Home in Margaretville, with services to be performed afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made instead to Margaretville Hospital.
