TREADWELL — Richard Zabell, 70, 18-year area resident, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Nov. 7, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
He was born July 4, 1943, in Brooklyn, to Seymour and Florence (Lapidus) Zabell.
Receiving his doctorate from New York University, “Rich” was a licensed clinical psychologist and unit chief in several down-state psychiatric hospitals, as well as his own clinic, before retirement.
He was a member of Delhi Masonic Lodge.
Surviving: Three sons, Ari, Saul and David Zabell; seven grandchildren; his mother, Florence Zabell; brother, Stanton Zabell.
Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, with Masonic service 6 p.m., Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi.
Funeral: 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Shalom Memorial Chapel, Smithtown.
Burial: Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Farmingdale.
