Wilma Ehlermann Knak

EAST MEREDITH — Wilma Ehlermann Knak, 103, was born Marie Anna Wilma Ehlermann on Nov. 18, 1909, in Nordkampen, Germany, to Meta (Fedderke) and Fritz Ehlermann. She came to the U.S. in 1929, and settled in Toledo, Ohio, where she met and married Ludwig (Louie) Knak in 1932. They had two children, Geraldine and James.
In 1946, the family moved to East Meredith, where they operated a dairy farm until 1963, when Wilma and Louie returned to Toledo, and divided their time between there and Florida. They remained friends with many people they met while in New York.
Survivors include daughter, Geraldine Stiefel; grandchildren, Gheri Marie Knak and Lisa Toomey; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Emmy Ehlermann, Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, husband Ludwig; son, James; grandson, Scott; sister, Mimi Meyerhoff; brothers, Henry Ehlermann and Fritz Ehlermann.
Wilma died Jan. 11, 2013, in Toledo, Ohio.
A graveside service to inter the remains of Wilma and Ludwig will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, in the East Meredith Cemetery.
