RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Russell Alan Edick, 46, of Sheridan Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 4, 2013, in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. He had the support and comfort of his loving family at his side.
He was born on June 19, 1966, in Cooperstown, son of Shirley “Russ” and the late Jean Alberta Perry Edick.
A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, he was educated in Richfield Springs Central Schools.
On Nov. 10, 1990, he was united in marriage with the former Tammy M. Spraker in the Springfield Presbyterian Church.
For several years, Mr. Edick was employed as a forklift driver for the Walmart distribution warehouse in Sharon Springs.
To those who knew Russ he was a kind, fun-loving man who found much relaxation and happiness in riding and caring for horses.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Surviving him are his devoted wife of 22 years, Tammy; his father, Shirley “Russ” Edick of Richfield Springs; two sons, Tyler Alan Edick and his wife, Janna, of Ilion and Brandon Timothy Edick of Richfield Springs; two brothers, Jeffrey Edick of Richfield Springs and Russell Ray and his wife, Tammy of New Berlin; three sisters and their husbands, Lori and Ron Edick of Ilion, Shirley and Keith Winton of New Berlin and Karen and Rusty Zbirdzin of Sylvan Beach; two grandchildren, Hartley and Payton Edick; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his mother, Jean Edick; he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Eileen Edick; and two brothers, Timothy and Daniel Edick.
Funeral services for Russell will be at 2 p.m. Monday in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James St., Richfield Springs. The Rev. Ronald Fralick will officiate. Interment will follow in Unadilla Forks Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
