David B. (Daisy) Gravelin
LAURENS — David B. (Daisy) Gravelin, 66, of Laurens, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Otsego Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Oneonta, the son of William P. Gravelin Sr. and Barbara (Colyer) Gravelin.
David married his high school sweetheart, Joann Keator on April 22, 1967, in Laurens.
He was retired from MeadWestvaco of Sidney where he was employed as a lithographer for 45 years. David was an enthusiast of classic cars and hot rods, such as his 1937 Chevy coupe.
While healthy, he could always be found working around his home, lawn and garden. Daisy was a longtime member of the Laurens Fire Department.
David is survived by the love of his life, Joann Gravelin; along with his children, Michael D. Gravelin, Mark D. Gravelin, Melissa D. Gravelin and Duane. David; has three grandchildren, Mackensie D. Gravelin, Michael D. Gravelin and Maison D. Gravelin-Thowe, all who he loved so dearly. David is also survived by a brother, William P. Gravelin Jr. and his wife Donna; a sister-in-law, Donna Black and Allen Black; a brother-in-law, Roy Keator. David has several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his special canine friend, Cadi.
The family will receive friends at the Laurens Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday. A memorial service will begin at noon at the church with refreshments to follow. The family requests casual dress.
Those who wish can make donations to the Laurens Emergency Squad or the Laurens Fire Department in his memory in lieu of flowers.
