DELHI/ONEONTA — Catherine Clark Richardson, 92, longtime Oneonta resident, formerly of Delhi, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at NY State Veterans Home, Oxford, residing there since 2010.
Born Aug 1, 1920, in Richmond, Va., to Bernard and Laura (Emmons) Clark, orphaned at the age of eight, Catherine came to Delhi, living with her aunt, Mrs. Carl Arnold.
Graduating Delaware Academy (1939), Catherine entered nursing school in Amsterdam, becoming a registered nurse, enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving aboard hospital ship "Arcadia," during W.W. II.
Subsequently a stewardess for American Airlines, Catherine married James Richardson, returning to Delhi after divorce, working at O'Connor Hospital. She moved to Oneonta, living on Spring Street for many years, doing private duty nursing until retirement.
Predeceased by a daughter, Candace; surviving are one daughter, Kay Richardson, Portland, Ore.; grandson, Stephen Eichthaler; cousin, Johana Arnold Paterson, Delhi.
Graveside services and military honors: 2 p.m., Monday, June 10, Mount Vision Cemetery.
