Virginia Carmen Gutierrez Hoag

MORRIS — Virginia Carmen Gutierrez Hoag (Ginnie), 59, of Morris, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013, at her home.

Born on Feb. 11, 1954, at West Point Military Hospital, the daughter of the late Dr. Medardo and Helen Margaret Powers Gutierrez.

Ginnie attended Morris Central School with the class of 1972. Ginnie is remembered as a kind and fun-loving woman with a heart of gold. She would do anything to help those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as her crossword puzzles.

Ginnie is survived by Peter A. Jacoby of Morris; her children, Tristan Hoag and wife Cindy of Bennington, Vt., Toby Murphy and husband Keith of White Plains, Jacob Hoag and wife Jessah of Sidney, Rian M. Hoag-Clifton of Torrance, Ca., and Lindsay B. Baker of Pleasantville and stepsons Bryan A. and Patrick W. Jacoby of Morris.

She is also survived by her aunt Mary Meachem and husband Jack of Schenectady; four brothers and three sisters, Medardo Gutierrez III of Morris, James R. Gutierrez of Cooperstown, Teresa A. Maerz of Garrattsville, Stephen C. Gutierrez of Garrattsville, Margaret M. Gibson of Guilderland, Andrew L. Gutierrez of Morris and Mary Patricia Rabin of Glens Falls; 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.

An informal gathering will be held at her home in Morris on Sunday, July 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. Those wishing to share in the celebration of her life are welcome. Condolences to the family may be made online at
