ST. JOHNSVILLE — Stewart B. Van Buren, 92, of St. Johnsville, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013.

He was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Scotia, the son o f the late Lewis and Alice (Reece) Van Buren and was educated in Scotia schools.

His marriage to Elizabeth Morse took place on March 15, 1946 in Denver.

Mr. Van Buren was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on June 4, 1943, and was honorably discharged on February 1, 1946, with the rank of Private First Class.

Stewart was owner and operator of Van Buren Photography in Margaretville.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth; a son Michael Van Buren and wife Dorothy of Middle Grove, a daughter, Sandra Young of Canajoharie; four grandchildren, Lonnie Van Buren, Ricky Van Buren, Michael Young and Rebecca Lyon; three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a son-in-law, Donald Young.

In keeping with Stewart’s wishes cremation will take place under the direction of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service with full military honors on Friday July 26, 2013, at 12:30 pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
