Mabel Chase


Those who knew Mabel felt her sincere interest in their lives. One of Mabel’s joys was to hear from or have a visit with one of her former students. Mabel believed in service to others and her community, treasured her friendships and was fiercely proud of her family, the center of her life. To those closest, Mabel was infinite strength and unbounded love.

Mabel is survived by her husband of 63 years, John H. Chase, Milford; son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Chase, Scottsdale, Ariz., son, Thomas Chase, Binghamton; beloved granddaughter, Mackenzie Snyder Chase, Brookline, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mabel was a member of the Milford Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Milford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rose Bellen officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in Milford at the Milford United Methodist Church from 2 to 4 p.m.

Those who wish are asked to consider donations to the Milford Emergency Squad, Milford, NY 13807 or to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Arrangements are under the supervision of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
