ONEONTA — Carolyn Ann (Allen) Combes, 70, passed away June 10, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law.
She was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Scott Township, Pa., the daughter of Arthur Wilber and Marion Elizabeth (Williams) Allen.
She married Arthur Wayne Fessenden in 1959.
She attended school in Bainbridge, Unadilla and Laurens, and college at the Utica School of Commerce.
She lived in Mount Vision, moved to Washington State, and raised a son, Terry Wayne Fessenden.
She was employed by Southside McDonalds, Sayno, Oneonta Dress and Boeing.
She enjoyed potting flower baskets, reading, puzzles and shopping.
Survivors include her son, Terry Fessenden of Enumclaw, Wash.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara (Roy) Mitchel, Newberry, Ore., Wilbur (Carol) Allen, Mount Vision, Helen (Robert ) Wikoff, Oneonta, Wayne (Kay) Allen, Maryland, James (Rita) Allen, Port Charlotte, Fla., Donna Palmer, Hillsboro, Ore., Norma (Gerald) Ayers, Walla Walla, Wash.; brother-in-law, Morris Stranagan Sr., West Laurens; sister-in-law, Joanne Kraft, Oneonta; several nieces, nephews and cousins very dear to her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Dorothy Stranagan.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Wilbur Allen residence, 1914 State Highway 205, Mount Vision, NY 13810.
