Gary Wayne Winters
JOHNSON CITY — Gary Wayne Winters, 72, a 1958 graduate of J.C.H.S., died on June 8, 2013, after a lengthy illness. He had been in the loving care and concern of the staff on South Tower Four at U.H.S. Wilson, Lourdes Hospice, family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Helen McLoud, with whom he resided for the past few years; son, Jason Winters, his wife, Andrea and their daughter, Chloe of Advance, N.C.; his stepdaughter, Susan Polachek and her son, Max Meismer of Hoboken, N.J.; his ex-wife, Carol Ann Winters of Syracuse; and sister, Marlene Pidgeon of Oneonta; and her children and grandchildren.
Gary was a graduate of R.P.I. and was honorably discharged from the U.S.A.F. Reserve in 1963. He was a licensed architect and a general contractor who designed many projects in Syracuse, Florida, California and in the Oneonta area.
Gary was an extremely talented designer, loving and generous to his family and friends. He was a member of the Oneonta Lodge BPOE No. 1312.
He enjoyed Grateful Dead concerts, reading, watching TV and following the various sports and school activities of his nieces, nephews and their children.
At Gary’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral.
A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. June 22, 2013, in Kattelville Cemetery.
