WEST LAURENS — Leslie Eugene Crawford, 90, of West Laurens, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born the son of the late Bruce Crawford and Harriet (Dubbin) Crawford.
He married June (Rendo) Crawford on July 25, 1970.
He hauled milk up and down the Otsdawa for 18 years, but first and foremost he was a farmer. Leslie took care of many animals on his farm but he especially loved caring and playing with his horses.
He was a member of the “No name gang” for many years. He was a kind-hearted man that always took the time to lend a helping hand. Leslie and others skidded logs from Gill Hill for the construction of the 4-H building at the Otsego County Fairgrounds.
He is survived by his son, Eugene Crawford (Linda); brothers, Frank Crawford and Maurice Crawford (Ann); a special nephew, Harold; and several other nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, June; his sisters, Florence Yager and Alberta Weidman; and his brothers, Earl and William Crawford.
Calling hours will be held at the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at Johnston Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, with the Rev. Nancy Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery in Oneonta.
