Edward H. Nafalski
ONEONTA — Edward H. Nafalski, 69, of State Highway 23, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born on March 21, 1945, in the Bronx, the son of John and Valeria Matczak Nafalski, and received his education in New York City schools.
On Oct. 12, 1972, Edward married Charlotte L. Syring in Albany.
As a young man, he worked on Wall Street delivering thousands of dollars in negotiable stocks for the First Bank of New York before they became the First Bank of America.
In 1979, Edward moved his family to the Oneonta area to be closer to his family there. He may not have been a regular Sunday church going person, but he was a spiritual man. He enjoyed fishing and doing impressions of famous people, including his favorites, Elvis, John Wayne and Johnny Cash.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him in person and on Facebook.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlotte; a daughter and son-in-law, Aurda and Milton Wood, and their children, Natalie, Cody and Jeremy; a son and daughter-in-law, Elvis and Kelly Nafalski, and their children, Gabriella, Dominique, Valeria and Holdyn; his sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and James Lepera; five nieces, three nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Katherine Goude.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be private at the convenience of his family.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
