FRANKLIN — Harriet J. Christie, 95, of Unadilla, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Harriet was born April 8, 1919, in Canton, the daughter of Harrison and Lena Belle (LaMonda) Parker. She attended Canton Schools and graduated from the Utica School of Beauty with a degree and New York State License as a beautician. She proceeded to open a beauty shop in the Hotel Woodruff in Watertown, and then at various locations in both Syracuse and Watertown, as the Beauty Bazaar until her retirement in l984.

She married Stuart D. Christie on Dec. 17, 1955, in Watertown. They resided in Syracuse until moving back to Watertown in 1974, when Stuart retired.

Harriet will always be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Her kindness and love of life along with her continuous smile will always be remembered by all who had the privilege of being part of her life.

Harriet is survived by her daughter, Jayne Bolton and son-in-law Steven J. Bolton of Unadilla; her grandchildren, Todd and Luna Bolton of Newark, Del., Brett and Sara Bolton of Schenevus, and Molly Bolton and Peter Steenland of Oneonta; a great-granddaughter, Lorelai Bolton; and her nieces and nephew; and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Stuart; a brother, Frederick Parker, his wife Gertrude Parker; and a sister, Ina Ritchie; a niece, Diane Potter and her husband, Bernard Potter.

A private memorial and burial will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
