Kathryn Jean (Klodzen) Weishar

STAMFORD — Kathryn Jean (Klodzen) Weishar died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

She was born in Syracuse, in 1946, to Michael and Jean (Rice) Klodzen.

Kathryn grew up in the Eastwood section of the city with her three sisters, Johann, Michaelene and Maryann, but often spent time in the Jefferson area with her many relatives, the Lawrences and the Ahls.

She graduated from Henninger High School in Syracuse and soon after met the love of her life, Douglas Weishar at the USO during the time that he was stationed at Hancock Air Force Base. They were friends, soul mates, best pals and hippies in love.

Married for more than 47 years, Doug and Kathy raised six children, Jon (who predeceased her in 2003), Amy, Jason, Joseph, and the twins, James and Sarah.

After originally living in Indianapolis, Ind., they finally settled in Stamford at Rose Cottage where Kathryn pursued her many interests: roses, antiques and painting.  She was also an avid member of the Republican Party and Oath Keepers.

In later years she spent many happy hours with her grandchildren Hailey, Jared, Casey, Sean, Michael, Shaylynn and Aighdan; her great-grandchildren, Ariah, Belladonna and Caterina; and was looking forward to the birth of two new grandchildren later this year.

Her husband, sisters, five surviving children and their families, many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as special friend, Leah Blumberg, mourn the death of Kathryn Jean Weishar.

Friends may call at the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford, from 3 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Michael G. Cambi, Pastor, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Stamford.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jefferson.

Condolences for the family may be made online at halltarifh.com.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, Stamford, under the direction of William A. Tari.
