John Raymond Wiedeck
WELLS BRIDGE — John Raymond Wiedeck, 61, of Wells Bridge, went into the Lord’s loving arms on Saturday, May 31, 2014.
John was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Dec. 9, 1952, to Delores and Franklin Wiedeck.
He served in the Army from 1972 to 1975.
He then married the love of his life, Sharon Overton, on July 10, 1975, in Annapolis, Md.
John was a molder at Corning where he worked very hard to be able to retire as soon as possible to enjoy life. He loved Ravens football and hunting and fishing, especially with his sons-in-law, Lenny and Curt. John loved his girls. He was surrounded in a house full of them after growing up with three brothers. He shared a special bond with his grandchildren, Pehlyn and Lenohn.
John will be remembered most for his smile and the sound of his laugh. No one had a laugh like his.
John is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Moriah and husband, Lenny Ross of Otego, Suzannah and husband, Musa Drammeh of Rome and Theresa and Curtis Underwood of Unadilla.
He is also survived by his brothers, Franklin and Edward Wiedeck; his sister-in-law, Susan and husband, Gerald Bourgeois; brothers-in-law, Dan and Andrea Overton and Tim and Joanna Overton; the loves of his heart are grandchildren, Pehlyn and Lenohn Ross; niece, Jerianna Bourgeois and son, Ethan Nisius; nephew, Jesse Overton and family, and many step nieces and nephews.
There will be no viewing or funeral at his request. Instead a celebration of life for family and close friends will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Wiedeck house in Wells Bridge.
