In addition to her own children and grandchildren, she is survived by a sister, Susan F. Cooper Weil of Mount Kisco and Cooperstown, and two brothers, James F. Cooper of Youngsville, La., and Henry S. F. Cooper, Jr., of Manhattan and Cooperstown. In addition, there are nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews too numerous to count. All are clamoring to get into this article. A private burial in Cooperstown will be followed by a memorial service later in New York City. Contributions can be made in her memory to the Glimmerglass Opera, P.O. Box 191, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
Her daughters wrote, “For our wonderful and courageous mother, a Celtic prayer: ‘May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.’”
Arrangements are under the guidance of Tillapaugh Funeral Service in Cooperstown.
