ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Dean Goodrich of Ormond Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Florida Hospital-Ormand Beach. He was surrounded by family and is now in heaven with loved ones whopreceded him.
Dean is survived by his wife, Freida, with whom he shared 64 years.
He is also survived by his five children: his son, John, of Ormond Beach, and his daughter, Judi Howard, and his sons, Jim, Jeff, and Jay, all of Jacksonville, Fla.
Dean is also survived by his granddaughters, Shannon Merriam, Sarah Downer, Lindsay Hanson, Laurie Beth, Emily, and Jordan Goodrich and grandsons, Brantley, Andy, Jordan and Joey Goodrich. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Dean was loved by all who knew him. We will all miss his ready smile and cheerful presence.
Dean is preceded in death by his older brother, John, a WWII Naval pilot, and his beloved grandson, Jeremy Howard.
The family is having a private celebration of life on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the compassionate caregivers that provided comfort and support to Dean and his family in his final days.
