MARYLAND _ Frank W. Stoesser, Maryland, died peacefully Sept. 29, 2012. He had resided on the backside of Goodyear Lake for 51 years.

Surviving Frank are his three children, Jeanette (James) Puylara, Anita Stoesser, and Wayne (Karen) Stoesser; one brother, Carl Stoesser; and several grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

Frank retired from Oneonta State College where he worked in the maintenance department for several years. He was a master wood craftsman and enjoyed working in his yard. His home was always known for the black cannon he had built in his front yard. It was a landmark on the backside of Goodyear Lake since 1967, and had been published in The Daily Star twice.

Frank was a Korean War veteran and received five Bronze Stars for his service. He was well respected in the community.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Southside Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Eric Santamont officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Maryland Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Frank’s family home immediately following the burial for a time of fellowship and remembrance.
